Press Release Writing 10 Golden Rules:

  1. Start with the words: For Immediate Release at the top.

  2. Catchy Header or Title that will entice the reader to read further.

  3. Dateline location and date followed by a

  4. Paragraph covering all major points in the press release.

  5. Crisp Description of the New Product, Service or Technology your company is introducing, including Price.

  6. Market Profile of your company and potential customers (Who is your target market?), Testimonials and

  7. Beta Comments from your company president and satisfied or important clients.

  8. Avoid Hype and Puffery but list your company's competitive advantage or customer benefits. (The press will ignore a blatant sales pitch!)

  9. Contact Information or company information, years in business, web site address, etc.

  10. End All - Use one of the following signs on the bottom line to "End All".

  • Be prepared for a positive response from the Press.
